map The Live Map

The map is HyveHeim's centrepiece. It shows real-time events across 220 countries and territories, updated continuously from over 1,300 open sources worldwide.

What the markers mean

Every event on the map is represented by a marker. The colour tells you the severity at a glance:

  • Red — Critical. Active conflicts, major disasters, mass casualty events.
  • Orange — Major. Significant events with regional impact. Protests, large-scale disruptions, serious incidents.
  • Blue — Minor. Noteworthy events with limited immediate impact.
  • Grey — Monitor. Background-level events worth tracking but not immediately alarming.

Interacting with the map

  • Click a marker to open the detail panel with the full event summary, sources, location, and timestamp.
  • Zoom and pan using scroll, pinch, or the on-screen controls to explore any region.
  • Cluster markers automatically group nearby events at lower zoom levels. Zoom in to see individual events.

Tip: Distress events (aircraft emergencies, maritime SOS) always appear on the map regardless of your filter settings. They pulse orange so you cannot miss them.

tune Filters & Layers

The filter bar at the top of the map lets you control exactly what you see. Toggle categories on and off to focus on what matters to you.

Event type toggles

  • Conflict — Armed conflicts, military operations, territorial disputes, airstrikes.
  • Disaster — Earthquakes, floods, wildfires, volcanic eruptions, storms.
  • Health — Disease outbreaks, epidemics, public health emergencies.
  • Cyber — Cyber attacks, data breaches, ransomware, infrastructure hacks.
  • Maritime — Vessel tracking, port incidents, piracy, naval movements.
  • Aviation — Aircraft tracking, incidents, airspace closures, distress signals.

Severity filter

Filter the map and sidebar by severity level. Show only critical events for a high-level overview, or include everything down to monitor-level for the full picture.

Tracking layers

  • Aviation layer (ADS-B) — Real-time aircraft positions. Military, government, and notable aircraft are highlighted.
  • Maritime layer (AIS) — Live vessel tracking. Sanctioned vessels and dark ships flagged automatically.

Toggle layers on or off using the layer controls in the filter bar. Each layer operates independently — you can view aircraft without maritime, or both simultaneously.

Tip: Distress signals bypass all filters and layers. An aircraft squawking 7700 (emergency) or a vessel broadcasting MAYDAY will always be visible.

flag Country Profiles

Every country has a dedicated profile page with in-depth intelligence. Access them from the Country Profiles page or by navigating to a country on the map.

What's in a country profile

  • Country Instability Index (CII) — A composite risk score based on conflict activity, governance data, economic indicators, and social stability metrics.
  • Risk assessment — Current threat level with contributing factors.
  • AI-generated briefing — A concise situation summary updated regularly, covering the most significant recent developments.
  • Recent events — All intelligence events from that country, chronologically ordered.
  • Forecasts — AI-generated predictions about emerging trends and likely developments.

The four global indices

HyveHeim tracks four global risk indicators, updated continuously:

  • Doomsday Clock — Existential risk to civilisation (nuclear, climate, pandemic, AI).
  • WW3 Escalation — Global armed conflict escalation risk, percentile-based.
  • AI Sentience — Tracking developments in artificial general intelligence and alignment risk.
  • Societal Stability — Aggregate global social cohesion and institutional resilience.

View these on the Global Indices page, or follow their dedicated channels in the app.

campaign Reporting

Know something? Spill.

If you are on the ground and witness an event, you can submit a report directly to HyveHeim. Reports are reviewed, cross-referenced against existing intelligence, and — if corroborated — added to the map.

How to submit a report

  • Click "Know something? Spill." at the bottom of the event sidebar.
  • Describe what you saw. Be specific about the location, time, and nature of the event.
  • Optionally attach media — images or video that support your report.
  • Submit. That's it.

What we don't collect

  • Your IP address is not logged. Ever.
  • No cookies, no fingerprinting, no tracking of any kind.
  • Reports are fully anonymous. We cannot identify you even if we wanted to — and we do not want to.

Maximum anonymity

For users in sensitive environments, HyveHeim is accessible via Tor and I2P. Submit reports through these networks for an additional layer of anonymity that even your ISP cannot see.

person Accounts & Security

The map is completely free and public. No account required. However, creating an account unlocks additional features.

Account tiers

  • Free — Select one country to follow. Access the live map, event feed, and search. Community channels for your selected country plus the four global indicator channels.
  • Premium — All countries. Advanced features including full country profiles, AI briefings, Muninn deep analysis, and expanded community access.

Registration

We do not ask for your email. Registration requires only a handle and a password. That's it. No email verification, no phone number, no personal information of any kind.

Recovery phrase

When you register, you receive a 12-word recovery phrase. It looks like this:

anchor forest ocean crystal tower ...

Write it down. Store it somewhere safe. Offline.

Because we do not have your email, this phrase is the only way to recover your account if you forget your password. We cannot reset your password for you. We do not have a "forgot password" link. If you lose both your password and your recovery phrase, the account is gone. This is a feature, not a bug — it means we genuinely cannot access your account, and neither can anyone who asks us to.

Security profiles (app only)

The HyveHeim app offers four security profiles that adjust privacy and security settings to match your threat model:

  • Everyday — Standard security. Good for general use.
  • Privacy-Conscious — Tor transport, enhanced protections. For users who value privacy.
  • High Risk — Tor transport, restricted features, strict device audit. For journalists, activists, aid workers.
  • Maximum — I2P transport, most restrictive. For users in hostile environments where detection is dangerous.

smartphone The App

The HyveHeim app extends the web platform with features that require device-level security.

What the app adds

  • End-to-end encrypted messaging — X25519 key exchange with AES-256-GCM. Messages are encrypted on your device before they leave. The server only ever sees ciphertext.
  • Community channels — Country-specific discussion channels and four global indicator channels. Public channels for open discussion, private channels for encrypted conversations.
  • Trust zones — Separate contacts into Trusted (family and friends, full features) and Social (internet contacts, pseudonymous, restricted features).
  • Direct messages — Encrypted one-to-one messaging with disappearing messages and read receipts (Trusted zone only).
  • Voice and video calls — Encrypted calls via LiveKit (Trusted zone only).
  • Device security audit — Checks for accessibility service attacks, screen overlays, root, ADB, and unsafe keyboards.
  • Embedded Tor and I2P — No external software needed. Select your transport in settings.

Available platforms

Android, iOS, Linux, Windows, and macOS. Check the HH Chat & Mail page for current availability.

shield Privacy

Privacy is not a feature we bolted on. It is the foundation everything else is built on.

What we do not do

  • No cookies — not a single one.
  • No trackers — no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no ad networks, no third-party scripts.
  • No server logs — nginx access logs are off. There is no record of who visited, when, or from where.
  • No IP logging — your IP address is stripped at the edge. Even internal systems never see it.
  • No fingerprinting — no canvas fingerprints, no device fingerprints, no behavioural tracking.
  • No user profiles — we do not build profiles of your interests, reading habits, or behaviour.

Zero-knowledge architecture

The server is designed so that even with full access to every database and every service, it is impossible to determine who is talking to whom, who belongs to which group, or what any message says. Membership is stored as blinded hashes. Messages are encrypted before they reach the server. Timestamps are quantised. The server is a relay, not an archive — messages expire and are permanently deleted.

Why this matters

If we do not have your data, we cannot leak it, lose it, sell it, or be compelled to hand it over. The best defence against a data breach is not having the data in the first place. Read the full Privacy Policy for the detailed breakdown.
